Close to You – A Carpenters Tribute

Step into a warm, nostalgic evening celebrating one of the most beloved duos in pop music history—The Carpenters. This beautifully crafted tribute at Queen Street Dinner Theatre honors the timeless artistry of Karen and Richard Carpenter, whose signature blend of lush arrangements and heartfelt vocals defined a generation.

From the first gentle notes, audiences are immersed in the unmistakable sound that made The Carpenters icons of the 1970s.

At the heart of the experience is the music itself. Expect wonderful renditions of classics such as “Close to You,” “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “Rainy Days and  Mondays,” “Superstar,” and “Top of the World.” Each song is delivered with authenticity and emotional depth, capturing Karen Carpenter’s style and rich, velvety voice accompanied by Richard Carpenter’s masterful arrangements.

Featuring our wonderful summer cast, the production features period-inspired costumes, and a live band that recreates the duo’s signature sound—complete with soaring harmonies. Interwoven narration offers insight into the stories behind their most cherished hits.
